Following the loss of a loved one, we were contacted by a family to clear their late mother’s home. We were handed the keys on 12th June 2023 and instructed to clear the property in three days due to contracts being exchanged on the house at the end of the week.

House Clearance Overview
We started in the loft sifting through the many items that had been put in there over the years including old photographs, sentimental items, paperwork, boxes of Christmas decorations, carpets, and suitcases. We put aside the photographs, paperwork, and sentimental items for the family to decide if they would like to keep them.
Once the loft had been left clean and tidy, we moved onto clearing items from the bathroom, master bedroom, single bedroom and bedroom that had been converted into a sewing room. We removed large items of furniture (fitted wardrobes, beds, bedside cabinets, book stands, washstand, work bench) as well as smaller contents (bedding, paintings, bags of clothing, sewing machines, materials) and various other items which had been accumulated over thirty years.
We then moved downstairs to clear the living room, kitchen, dining room and hallway. Once the whole house had been cleared, we swept it from top to bottom, ready for the new owners to move into.
Our next job was to tackle the garage, 6′ x 4′ shed and greenhouse which were packed with everything you could imagine (old bikes, freezer, building materials, paint, black bags of clothes/shoes, seeding tables and plant pots).
Throughout the clearance, we contacted the family daily to give them an update on our progress. We recycled any items that we could and disposed of the unusable items at a licensed waste management facility.
Working as a team, we managed to clear the house and outside areas with a couple of hours to spare. We handed the keys back to the family and provided them with an invoice. The family paid for the clearance and even gave our team of workers £20 extra to what was on the invoice. We then moved onto our next job, a flat clearance in Boldmere, Sutton Coldfield.
